Was on the hunt for family portrait photographer and very pleased with the quality of work and professionalism that Namu brought to the table. Namu Williams is an outstanding photographer. We have used him 3 or 4 times for, family photos, our church ball and for some outside events. He is reasonably priced and delivers some amazing photos in the end. His speciality is "capturing the action" and bringing back the memories of the day. Namu takes the most fantastic photos. He captures the essence of his subject and/or the event he is photographing. Namu is both professional and personable. I have been in the entertainment industry for most of my life and began my career as an actor. Now that I'm "senior" aged, I'm thinking of returning to work in front of the camera. I haven't taken head shots for many years (necessary for the casting process), and was looking for a photographer who had the skills and sensitivity of working with a grumpy, old man. Namu Wiliams was recommended to me by a friend, and I must say he was terrific to work with. Although I've been working with actors for many years, it's been that long since I've been in front of the camera. With his sense of humor, he instantly made me feel at ease and took a number of shots that captured the essence of the characters that I wanted to portray. I had asked him photograph me to look as natural as possible, which he did. No filters, no Photoshop, just daylight, his camera, and his skills. And the photography was stunning! Can't thank you enough, Namu, and look for me on the big screen, little screen, billboards, bus stops, and anywhere else you can find an old guy like me acting up the entertainment world!

Namu is amazing. We've used him two years in a row now for our family photoshoot. I have three spirited little ones (6, 4, 18 months) and he is literally a child/toddler whisperer. And SO much fun. Our two older guys have such a great time with him. More importantly our toddler girl who has extreme stranger danger totally took to Namu. I've never seen her warm to a person like the way she did with Namu!

He's super responsive and was so accommodating of our crazy weekend schedule as well. Great communication.

Have you ever met someone and you just click right away. Well that was my experience with Namu. He was my photographer for my Wedding and of course me being the bride I was late, He assured me that everything would be ok . Our experience with Namu was nothing but positive from start to finish! Namu was very easy to communicate with both via email and phone, and had quick response time. This was my first time using a professional photographer and I have to say the experience was excellent. I have seen other photographers at events and did not expect such a personable person to be meeting us at our event! I had emailed 13 people requesting a photographer and he was the only one who was available to meet us so early on a Saturday! It was a last minute decision. I felt at ease talking to Namu about the shot I wanted of my baby's baptism. He understood and delivered! He checked in with me the day before to confirm and arrived promptly. Namu made sure to check with the priest on what was acceptable to him and the priest loved him. My family was impressed and felt Namu was very friendly and made us feel comfortable. I don't like having my picture taken but even I felt at ease. My pictures were uploaded much sooner than expected! His equipment is excellent quality and the pictures were beautiful. I am a general contractor building a web portfolio of my work, and Namu came through on short notice to get some amazing shots of my latest project. Very easy to work with, answered my questions about his experience, very quick turnaround for my work. Well worth the price.

Namu was such a fun and gracious photographer for our wedding ceremony. He was flexible and considerate; interacted incredibly well with random relatives and guests; jumped onto ideas for photos, and probably took pictures of every combination and permutation of our group. In other words, he also had great patience.

Namu was the photographer for a wedding that I coordinated this past weekend (Saturday 9/17/16). As a wedding planner, it is super important to have vendors who are professional and are easy to work with. Namu was quick to respond to emails prior to the event and on the day-of he arrived on time with his equipment, despite our location being semi-remote and requiring a hike up a hill! He took it all in stride and was personable with the guests.

Early this summer, I decided to drastically change my career after 7 years in the same position. One of my amazing contacts put me in touch with a colleague for a great career opportunity, and within 2 weeks of making my decision to leave, I was on my way in the new position. I needed to have headshots taken for a new business card and marketing materials ASAP. After reaching out to my friend network, I found that Namu with American Photographic came highly recommended. I placed a call that same day, and Namu responded so quickly. He was finishing up a job and was willing to meet me in the studio in 2 hours
- wow! I did not expect the turnaround, especially nearing the end of the day, but Namu was more than happy to help. The studio was easy to find and in a cool little spot on Shattuck in Berkeley, easy to walk to after taking BART. Namu was super welcoming from the start, explaining some basics on poses that we awkward and reluctant models should find VERY helpful! We chatted and connected during the process, and he got some amazing and genuine smiles/laughs from me. Namu even made time to walk the beautiful neighborhood with me to take advantage of the killer lighting and the soft trees and colorful buildings for a natural background. I ended up choosing one of these outdoor shots for my cards, because by then Namu and I had a natural back and forth and he had really loosened me up to forget about my reluctance to pose. The shot was gorgeous with the outdoor lighting and my ease with the camera by that point. Aside from the obvious benefit of an outstanding headshot to set the tone for my new career, I had a truly enjoyable afternoon with Namu. I highly recommend him for a more natural and modern headshot. He also does events and portrait sessions, so I'm sure we'll be in touch in the future. I'd like to work with Namu again on photography for house showings/open houses, so when I get that first listing, I'm calling Namu!

Namu was fantastic! He took family portraits for us and the session was quick and professional. We have indoor and outdoor shots both posed and casual. The digital images were ready same day. He edited some shots as requested and also had same day turn around. I highly recommend him and he's very affordable.

I've used Namu a couple times now to photograph my family and he is great at what he does! He's awesome at capturing both posed and candid shots, and did exceptionally well with my two active toddler boys who didn't pause for a second. They liked him so much that they wanted him to join us for dinner! His sessions are short and sweet, but I'm always impressed with the number of fantastic shots he is able to get in a short period of time. He is extremely affordable for the quality of pictures you get (his packages include digital files for immediate download), plus he typically has a one day turnaround. That's right, ONE DAY!! You can't get faster unless you go to a studio like Picture People, where you get a bland background and a teenage photographer whose photography credentials are mainly personal Snapchat pictures.

Namu has a studio in Berkeley but we've only used him for on location shoots. He's able to travel all over the Bay Area and has great recommendations if you're looking for a particular style. Book him today!

Namu is fun and friendly and professional and he does great work. I hired him to do a beach photo shoot with my mom and aunt when we were in the area for vacation. He made the whole experience really easy and really comfortable and I loved the pics that were the result. He captured some really fun moments. I was feeling down and out about not having a Valentine this past weekend. I needed to do something that would help me feel more confident and also distract me from Singles Awareness Day. One thing I had always wanted to do was a fun and sexy photo shoot, just for myself. I've never considered myself the most photogenic (I have a squinty eye, zero coordination and resting B**** face that comes across in most photos) but somehow or another I ended up booking Namu to shoot a few portraits on Valentines Day.

I'm a terrible procrastinator and didn't arrange for any family portraits for Christmas until the week before Christmas. I got in and was able to have a session without any problems- and the turn around time for my photographs was only 1 business day. Namu was so great! He knew how to work with my 3.5 y old and my 9mth old and got fabulous pics. He made us feel so comfortable. On top of that, he photoshopped out all of my son's facial bruises
- which took an extra day bc of how many he has (he's learning how to stand) and didn't charge me extra. I'm definitely going to use him again! He may become my official family photographer.

Namu was a wonderful photographer to work with! He got back to me right away and we scheduled a family portrait session for a few weeks out. He was exactly on time to our shoot and wasted no time scouting out the best locations. He has a very warm personality, made my partner and I feel comfortable right away, and we enjoyed spending time with him while he was taking our photos. I had a cotillion back in January, but I've known namu for a couple years before this event. Let me tell you that he knows what he's doing! He really takes the time to edit and ensure that all the photos he's taking are to the best they can be and I can whole heartedly say that I am over joyed that he was able to do my cotillion. He really captured our event beautifully and when I look back at the pictures he took, it just made me so happy because it was such an amazing day and to have it all captured with such high resolution and quality photos is spectacular!

He's very easy to contact, very easy to work with and tries to get the photos out to you as soon as he is able to. His website is very up to date and easy to maneuver.

We did our first ever family photo shoot with Namu last weekend. It was awesome. Namu kept the kids engaged (2 yr old and 4 yr old) and captured some spectacular candid shots. Namu did a fantastic job at our son's 5th birthday party. The photos were amazing -- he got a great shot of our 5-year-old at a water station pouring water on our 2-year-old son's head (who was loving every minute). He joked that he would have stopped them, but it made for an awesome shot -- and it did. 🙂 I had originally booked him until 1pm, but then I realized I needed him to be there until 2pm. He rearranged his schedule to make it happen, which I really appreciated. He showed up in all black and walked around pretty stealthily so that no one really noticed he was taking their photos -- makes for much more real and artistic photos. Highly recommend.

Namu did our wedding this past August downtown San Jose for the full day. I personally knew what a great guy and professional Namu is, but now every guest at my wedding knows. This is a long due review. I hired Namu from yelp for my son's birthday. I was very happy that I hired him. Couple of points I would recommend him for:-
- He did not need any guidance (one thing off my mind to take care of!!!)
- His photographs came out really good (even with limited lighting in the hall)
- He did touch up some of the photographs which was good and it did not look touched up at all I would totally recommend him to anyone. Actually lot of my friends inquired about him after the party which was a good sign.

Unfortunately he was booked during the time I needed him, but he was still very accommodating to fit us in his schedule just to capture my son blow out his first candle! His shots are clear, candid, and unique. I would definitely use him again for other events and would recommend him to anyone looking for a very reasonably priced quality photographer for their events! I could not be happier with the work Namu did. We had two kids (a 2 year old and a 4 year old) on a large campus, and we needed to do a costume change AND get professional head shots for my husband and myself in addition to family photos. He did a great job!

Namu, the name itself is unique in its own, the guy us genuine down to earth and never scared to voice his opinion on what he thinks is the right shot or not. Great pictures and very humble. I met Namu through my work at the Bank so many time i said to him i would love to have u as a our photographer. One day we planned a party and we had asked him to come to our party and take our pictures ......................when the pictures come out we were very happy with how our photos came out!!! I met Namu when searching for a photographer to do a casual photoshoot. From the first email, communication with him was just amazing. He was very helpful, professional and all around GREAT! He worked with what we had and discussed how the day should turn out. From start to finish, everything was BAM BAM BAM, on time, on point, and everything just turned out great! I can go on talking about how great he is but definitely hire him because it is worth it. I will definitely work with him again in the future!!!

Namu is great! My fiance and I had a blast shooting with him. Very creative shots and fast turnover. He is great with touching up photos too...goodbye annoying strands of hair that always seem to find their way into my face! He even gave me more photos than I asked for as a wedding present, all downloaded onto a CD. My fiance and I were really only looking for digital shots to post on our wedding website, so it was great that Namu gave us the CD without us having to buy prints that we didn't need. Also, he's probably the best deal in the Bay Area in terms of affordability...I searched around and didn't find anyone as convenient, more flexible with availability, or with a better deal.

We just had my daughter's 1st Birthday on Saturday, and Namu did an EXCELLENT job!

I just want to thank Namu for his friendly but professional demeanor. He came through in a pinch to do some very last-minute work on a friend's engagement party. He arrived on time, checked in with all the pertinent folks, made sure to identify the important members of the party (to photograph) and generally tried to stay out of the way so that guests could enjoy themselves at the party. The final results were pleasing to all.

I am happy to recommend Namu to others. Book him, everyone!

An extremely down-to-earth and meticulously detail-oriented photographer, indeed. There isn't much I can say that hasn't been said in the previous reviews. I will have to re-iterate Athena's comment about Namu making people feel comfortable in the camera, though... He definitely has that personality and charm that would disarm the most rigid and camera-shy person's inhibitions.

My daughter is new to modeling and was nervous on the way to the shoot. Right away, Namu put her totaly at ease with his calm demeanor. The finished product was great, as he really brought out the best in her. My daughter's personality really shined through in the photographs.
