San Luis Obispo Wedding Photographer, Namu Williams

Hi, I’m Namu, a wedding photographer here on the Central Coast who really loves sushi.

I’m also a bald, big-bellied, bearded dad (say that fast three times!) to a snarky teenaged son who loves me almost as much as I love him, which is almost as much as I love sushi. Sorry kiddo, priorities.

You’re probably here to see if we’d work well together, so here’s me on your wedding day: I’ll hype you up, charm your grandma, joke with your college friends and help you keep things as stress-free as possible. I’ve been a professional photographer for twenty years, and I’m calm, upbeat and easy to work with, even when things get messy or the timeline goes sideways. I do have one serious flaw though: if your reception has sushi, I’ll probably eat too much of it.

My overall approach is documentary and fluid. I work light and stay mobile, so I can move with the day instead of slowing it down. I’m not there to force you to pose every other minute or turn your day into a series of long, equipment-heavy portrait setups. I do create beautiful portraits, but the real focus is the energy of the day: the way things unfold, the people you’re with and how you move through it all. The result is a photography experience that feels very natural and images that will take you right back to your big day, decades later. If you’d like to get a feel for what I like to photograph on a wedding day, you can look at full galleries by clicking here. (Please note, we switched hosting companies recently, so we’re slowly adding all previous galleries)

So that’s me. How about y’all? What kind of couple are you?

Do you like to laugh a lot? Roll with the punches? Ham it up a little? Are you serious but mellow? Romantic, laid-back, sentimental, wild partiers…a little bit of all of the above?

Whatever your personality type is, I’m sure we’ll get along famously. And if you love sushi? You’re already winning!
